The workflow, considered
In Settings → Import & export, choose Juris, Clio Manage, MyCase, Smokeball or Other CSV. Upload a data-only export, review suggested field matches and choose the date format and charge convention.
Review record details, linked matters, errors, duplicates and billing impacts. See which source columns are not imported, and download the converted CSV or review report for checking.
Import matters first, then related records. Stable source IDs keep links consistent and help prevent duplicates. Existing record IDs are retained; missing or invalid records need review before a batch can be saved.
A closer look
Named presets cover CSV field suggestions for matters, associated client and billing-contact fields, and reviewed unbilled time, services and expenses in USD. Matching appointment and template fields can be mapped when the required fields are available. Keep the original exports and reconcile counts and amounts against your source system before relying on imported balances.
Before you explore
The import uses CSV files exported from your current software; it is not a live account connection or a vendor-certified migration. Export formats vary. Validate a sample with your team first. Already-billed invoice history, settled payments, refunds, trust balances, original document files and access permissions require separate planning and reconciliation. Proprietary database backups cannot be uploaded as CSV.
